On Monday, October 19th, 2015, the liberal party won the election and on 4th of November 2015, The Honorable Mr. Justin Trudeau will become the next Prime Minister.

During the election the Liberal government announced it will “make it easier” for people with 12 months working experience to become permanent residents in the Canada Experience Class (CEC). It is assumed that the requirement of a Labour Market Impact Assessment or a Provincial Certificate of Nomination will be abolished for the CEC.

The Liberal party also announced that it would restore the age of a dependency to 22. By abolishing the policy that brought the age of dependency down to 19 years, families with children under the age of 22 will now (again) be able to accompany their parents to Canada.

Furthermore it was announced that recognition will be given to foreign nationals for time they were in Canada as temporary resident (worker or student) when residency
