The Atlantic Immigration Program is a pathway to permanent residence for skilled foreign workers who want to work and live in 1 of Canada’s 4 Atlantic provinces—New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island or Newfoundland and Labrador.

To apply, you must:

  • in the last 5 years, you must have worked at least 1,560 hours. This is the number of hours you would have worked in 1 year if you were working 30 hours per week (unless you’re an international graduate of a recognized post-secondary institution in Atlantic Canada)
  • meet or exceed the educational requirements:
    • A Canadian one-year post-secondary (or higher) educational credential (for jobs in NOC 0 & 1)
    • A Canadian or foreign high school diploma (for jobs in NOC 2, 3, & 4)
  • meet or exceed the language requirements
    • CLB/NCLC 5 for TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3
    • CLB/NCLC 4 for TEER 4
  • show that you have enough money to support yourself and your family when you get to Canada (unless you are already living and working in Canada)

Immigration programs changes regularly, and we advise applicants to continue to monitor Canada’s immigration website and its programs here.
