Federal Skilled Worker Categories

Express Entry launched categories to better support its economic goals. Category-based rounds are intended to supplement other round types to meet the identified economic goal.

The current categories are:

French-language proficiency

French language test entered on Express Entry profile, with a minimum score of at least 7 in all language abilities.

Healthcare and social services occupations

  • at least 12 months of full-time work experience (or an equal amount of part-time experience)
