Initial Assessment Process
For applicant’s serious about immigration to Canada, this page will give you necessary information to decide if you should immigrate to Canada.
Step #1 – Count the Cost
Immigrating is a costly venture. Below we will outline the costs to apply for:
- permanent residency: we only assist applicants wishing to permanently immigrate to Canada)
- work permits: most applicants require a job offer to immigrate to Canada
If you cannot afford the costs below, do not submit a query.
In some cases employers are willing to cover the costs of immigration (or a portion of it), and those jobs are listed on our Vacancies page.
Cost of a Work Permit
If a person emigrates with a job offer, an application for a work permit is submitted because a permanent residence applications takes too long to process (6 to 24 months).
Legal Fees
Matrixvisa legal fees are $2,750 CAD and are split into 2 phases:
Phase 1: When an immigrant obtains a job offer, the 1st payment is payable to prepare the work permit application.

All of the work permit legal fees are payable before you move to Canada.
Matrixvisa’s fee includes an entire family.

Step #2 – Understand Immigration Requirements
Immigrating with a job
In order for a Canadian employer to hire you (and for you to immigrate to Canada), the employer must advertise a position online for 30 days, and then prove to the Canadian government that they were unable to get a Canadian to apply for the work.
This can only be successful if there is a shortage (or demand) in occupation.
Immigrating Through Express Entry
1. To immigrate through Express Entry (Canada’s federal government immigration pool), you must have an occupation that is in demand. See the list of occupations in demand on Express Entry.
2. You must also score enough points to be selected in your occupation category. Calculate your points with the factors listed here.
Step #3 – Do Research About Canada
To permanently immigrate to a new country is a big commitment, you should know what life will be like before you make the decision to immigrate. We encourage our clients to read about the economy and investigate various aspects of Canada.
- Immigration Options: Canada has various immigration programs, you should familiarize yourselves with these names and basic requirements of the programs.
- Economic Conditions: The economy in Canada should inform your immigration decision.
- Job Hunting Challenges: Most applicants require a job offer from a Canadian employer to immigrate. Applicant’s should be aware of the challenges they could face looking for work.

Important Notes
Note for Farmers / Investors / Entrepreneurs. If you are interested in investing in Canada (farming or otherwise) or starting a business in Canada, please skip the initial assessment and go straight to book a meeting.
Note for Job Seekers. It is critical that you are aware that we are not paid to find work for our clients (that is illegal in some parts of Canada). If it is your intention to immigrate to Canada permanently and your only option in immigrating to Canada is with a job offer, we assist you to amend your resume/CV, so that you can then yourself apply for work and immigrate to Canada once you have a job offer. In some cases, we find work for applicants as a result of employer driven recruitment, but in most cases, applicants find their own jobs with our assistance. Read more about “finding jobs in Canada†here.
Note about documentation. Lastly, for your assurance, certain actions in our process (such as signing the recruitment disclosure) are prescribed by provincial legislation. Matrixvisa was audited five times during 2016 by our immigration regulator as well as provincial authorities and we passed all audits. We are successful as we follow legislative requirements closely.

We recognize that it takes time to make a serious decision to commit to this process. We have a high volume of people wanting to immigrate (from countries such as South Africa) due to certain circumstances, but many applicants are not 100% serious about immigration to Canada, or not yet.
To assess this and ensure we prioritize our time with clients that are ready to commit to immigrate permanently, we ask all potential client to go through the intensive booking procedure below.
If you have made the decision and feel you are ready to leave your country of residence, it is the right time to move forward and complete this initial assessment.

Once we have received the documents, we will confirm once they have been reviewed, and if we can schedule a meeting.
If we believe that you are not eligible for immigration or that the chances are very low for a successful immigration process, we will indicate this in our response. If we believe that there are immigration possibilities for you, we will invite you to an Initial Consultation.
The cost of an Initial Consultation meeting is $200 CAD, and is paid via credit card or debit interact card through a secure booking portal. Matrixvisa does not have access to the credit card information.
